The
appliance constitutes the support-retaining wireframes with mouth guards
or occlusal plates for upper or lower lateral segments of dentitions,
which are interconnected by the vestibular arches for both dentitions
and the lingual spring. The latter in the area of frontal teeth is
realized as a grid for the tongue and is fixed by its ends on the
support-retaining wireframes or in the plates. The appliance is mounted
on the dentition, the opposite lateral segments of which need indent
alveolar intrusion. Making of the appliance in the position of
constructive occlusion, on the model of the mandible advanced in the
mesial direction in the articulator, allows to treat distal open bite.
If it‘s necessary, the distal sections of lateral segments of the
appliance are interconnected by a Coffin spring, see, Fig1 Mailyan 11-1
or by the lingual springs fixed on the grid for the tongue, see Fig 2.
Mailyan 11-2.
At the treatment of open bite combined with sagittal
and transversal anomalies the support-retaining wireframes in the area
of lateral teeth of the appliance are realized with components for upper
and lower dentitions, which are connected to the grid for tongue via
springs, see Fig3. Mailyan 11-3.
The last construction allows to
achieve a dentoalveolar shortening in the area of lateral teeth of both
jaws, as well as a correction of malocclusion in sagittal and
transversal directions (see, Fig3)
